LAND / SEAS / SUN is a series of unique pinhole landscape photographs the island of Örö, Finland. Made while artist-in-residence with ÖRES, the prints were developed in photographic developer made from left over tea leaves.  They were fixed in homemade photographic fixer, made with salt evaporated from the Baltic sea surrounding Örö.

On the island we navigated and oriented ourselves using the sun and sea. This installation invited audiences to experience the landscape through pinhole photographs that were generated by these bodies. This work examines the material links between photographic materials, landscapes and how these landscapes are used and engaged with by human and more-than-humans.
It was an experiment into making photographic works using the limited resources of the island.

Made in collaboration with Hannah Fletcher.
