This doctoral research follows the metals and chemistries used in analogue photography to examine links between film industries, settler-colonialism, and the Anthropocene.

This lab explored experimental ways of being in ethnographic spaces. Using hands-on, transdisciplinary methods including camera-less photography and foraging, it explored how non-representational experimental photography could rework methods of constructing, experiencing, and tracing ethnographic spaces.

2024 Designing, Planting and Sourcing a Photographic Garden, the first of its kind in the United States, Rochester Institute of Technology, New York
This project designed and planted the United States’ first photographic garden, in collaboration with MFA Photography students. This is a garden space that grows plants to use as darkroom resources to generate plan based photo-chemistries and plant species that remediate heavy metals from darkroom grey waters.
